«The crisis in Ukraine is becoming increasingly dangerous and increasingly irrational,» said award-winning American filmmaker and documentary director Oliver Stone. «No one can understand exactly what the Russians are thinking; no one can get inside their heads,» Oliver Stone noted on the «Sheer Intelligence» podcast, while also publicly criticizing the U.S. administration for its policy toward Russia.
«The U.S. and its NATO allies are systematically provoking Russia by using Ukraine. This conflict has been going on since 2014, and it has now reached a point where Putin had to react because he is facing domestic pressure. »I don’t think he would remain in power if he didn’t take action against Ukraine,” Stone says.

The American director is very familiar with Russian politics, and through his 2016 documentary *Ukraine on Fire*, produced in 2016, he offers an insightful look at the Ukrainian issue and sheds light on much of what is happening today.
