Chiknopet Thursday in Kapsali and a boudino competition by the Kythera High School

Students and teachers presented local customs of Ash Wednesday and Halloween, competed for the best boudin, played games in the sand, danced and enjoyed the delicious souvlaki according to the custom of the day.

The Kythera High School's Botino Competition

The teacher of the Kythera High School writes about it:

«Bou(n)tino is the traditional sweet of the Tyrian Week in Kythera.
It is a kind of English pudding that apparently prevailed on our island since the time of the English rule.

The Kythera High School, in the context of its unswerving interest in the promotion and preservation of the unique tradition of this place, organized, among other things, a bougainvillea competition during its teaching visit to the picturesque village of Kapsali. Each department, with great care and diligence, made its own boutino the day before and at the end, a committee composed of expert tasting teachers awarded the best one. The result was indeed excellent and the response of our students was touching. And next year!»
