The March in Kythera is magic. Nature is waking up, the villages are full of colours and the waterfalls have water (yes, that happens too!). The only problem?; You have to get to the island first - and with the current shipping problem, this may prove more difficult than catching March with your mouth! So choose to come by plane after booking ale retreat tickets first!
Νa three things you should NOT miss
Hiking on the paths of Spring
Forget the summer Kythera - the island in spring wears his flashiest colors. The trails are now at their best, with wild flowers, running water and a tranquility that is nothing like August.
Extra tip: Take your camera with you - the view of the sea is dream.
Romantic sunset in Chora
If you think Chora is only nice in summer, think again. In March, when no hordes of tourists, you can be happy the most beautiful walk in the Castle and watch the sun go down without having to squeeze in an Insta story.
Extra tip: Then, head down to Kapsali for a leisurely stroll by the sea - you'll find an open café, sit down for a hot rakomelo.
Mountainous Kythera - because the island is not only beaches!
Did you think that Kythera is only the sea? Wrong! In March it is worth discovering the villages of the hinterland - such as the Mylopotamos with its waterfalls, the Mitata with the blossoming almond trees or the Karava with its hidden sources.
Extra tip: If you can get a good food and wine situation, you consider yourself lucky!
Which of the three would you do first? Tell us in the comments!
