An elderly man was found dead after a fire broke out on Wednesday night (26/10) in an apartment on Mandrokleous Street in the Neos Kosmos area of Athens.
There are reports that two adults and a child, possibly a family, have taken refuge on the roof where they are in no immediate danger.
According to an update from the Fire Department, 6 vehicles with 20 firefighters and a special staircase vehicle are operating to extinguish the fire, while volunteer firefighters are also assisting.
