Another incident with migrants stranded in Kythera occurred at dawn on Sunday 2 October 2022. The boat anchored in the bay of Kapsali, at the point “Diakopi” of Cape Trachila.
The Coast Guard and the Kythera Police Department are aware of the incident. Coastguards are at the scene, while a local fishing boat is assisting in the management of the incident.
Initially, 4 people used an inflatable boat and went ashore. The inflatable was then capsized by the strong 6 Beaufort winds and came ashore.
The Deputy Mayor for Civil Protection has already been informed.
