Tosca: an opera diva who is pathologically jealous of her partner. Scarpia: a powerful man who takes pleasure in the suffering of his victims. Caught between them is the noble patriot Mario Cavaradossi, who is led to his death—not for his beliefs, but because he is in love with Tosca, whom Scarpia desires.
In his most popular opera-thriller Giacomo Puccini, the deeply evocative music underscores the intense passions. Audiences will enjoy a Tosca that is thrilling, dramatic, and entirely faithful to the composer’s spirit, set against a backdrop of impressive sets and costumes, in a revival of the successful production, which premiered in 2012, directed by the renowned Argentine director Hugo de Ana. Conducted by the distinguished conductor Philippe Augène and feature internationally renowned soloists.
