In a solemn atmosphere and a mood of profound sorrow, the Service of the Lamentation of the Epitaph was held at the HolyChurch of Panagia Ilaroti, the Service of the Lamentation over the Epitaph was conducted by the parish priest of Potamos, the Most Reverend Petros Mariatos, and Father Ioannis Golematis tonight, Good Friday, May 3, 2024.
Parishioners and many visitors to the island flocked to venerate the Epitaphios and listen to the eulogies.
The emotion reached its peak during the procession of the Epitaph, accompanied by a crowd of the faithful through the beautiful village of Potamos with its picturesque, dimly lit alleys, to the sound of the brass band, ending at the Retirement Home.
