Fifty-three new trucks, in both official and custom colors, were delivered and added to the Hellenic Police fleet.
These are vehicles that were acquired under a contract with the Hellenic Police Headquarters, through co-financing by the European Union – the Internal Security Fund 2014–2020.
More specifically, they are distributed as follows:
- (29) in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace,
- (7) in the Northern Aegean,
- (6) in Epirus,
- (5) in the Dodecanese,
- (3) in Central Macedonia,
- (2) in Western Macedonia and
- (1) in the Ionian Islands.
It should be noted that in 2020, the Hellenic Police carried out one of its largest equipment procurement programs, with the delivery of (1.453) new vehicles (see the press release dated December 13, 2020), and additional vehicles were recently received (45) vehicles (see the press release dated February 23, 2021).
The addition of these vehicles significantly strengthens and enhances the operational readiness and response capabilities of local police departments and improves the quality of services provided for thebenefit of society as a whole.
