Although in the days that followed the vote of the members of Panathinaikos (who approved with a percentage of 68.5% the project of «Double Redevelopment») there was a relative optimism that the auction of the new football stadium can be held -even- in April, the most likely scenario that is currently on the table, is to start the whole process towards the last ten days of May.
A process that will take a total of -at minimum- 9 months, i.e. until February 2023 until the final reduction is reached, because there are still several issues to be settled.
The side of the municipal authority has begun to «run» the developments around the tender documents for a long time. At the same time, the studies of the stadium have been prepared by Panathinaikos FC and have been delivered to the Technical Services of the Municipality of Athens. And on the basis of these are already drawn up the tender documents, in accordance with the provisions of Article 50 of Law 4412/2016.
Also, the traffic impact study for the construction of the football stadium has been completed and has been submitted to the competent Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport (YPOMEDI) for approval. This study will accompany the environmental licensing of the stadium by the relevant Ministry of Environment and Energy.
In fact, given that the football stadium has already had a building permit for years, the approval of environmental conditions will now «open» the way for the final tender.
