A series of suspicious emails is being received throughout Wednesday by the news website Kythera.News. The emails “show” the sender to be Kythera State Airport and bear the “signature” KAKTH / AIRPORT. The emails are sent from unknown addresses as is usually the case with spam mail and contain a zip file attachment with the risk of containing a virus or malware.
In our contact with the airport, we were assured that no emails have been sent since Wednesday morning until now with Kythera.News as the recipient.
Therefore, we recommend to any citizen who may receive a similar message from Kythera Airport, not to “open” it unless the real e-mail address is confirmed. It is also noted that in most cases, zip files attached to email messages are dangerous.
