CHORA–KARVOUNADES PUBLIC SCHOOL, KYTHIRA
A N N O U N C E M E N T
Subject: Report on the 2021–2022 School Year
Kythira, June 21, 2022
Dear parents and guardians of the students at our elementary school,
Now that the school year has ended, our association is able to provide you with an update on its work and activities.
We should first point out that our Board of Directors worked under adverse conditions, which arose due to the restrictive measures aimed at curbing the spread of the pandemic and the ban on social activities, to do everything possible to ensure that our association could stand by the children and their parents and guardians. There were many times when we found ourselves at an impasse, but we believe we overcame them in the best possible way.
In this context, since the day we took office in October 2021
We did the following:
- Organizing a Christmas bazaar in a festive atmosphere for young and old alike
- Distribution of a symbolic Christmas gift to all students
- Creative Carnival Activities at School in Collaboration with Our Teachers
- First Aid Awareness Program, tailored for elementary school students, by the Hellenic Rescue Team – Kythira Branch
- A free copy of the book *Happy Holidays* (published by Patakis) for every student
- Free boat trip to Chytra for 6th-grade students
- Handling the association’s outstanding financial and administrative matters (cash management, membership dues, membership registry, payments to service providers)
- Compilation of educational materials to be provided free of charge to the school
We hope to continue our activities throughout the summer.
Throughout the school year, we monitored the school’s operations in the areas of education, cleanliness, logistical support, and building infrastructure, assisting and supporting the student body and our teachers in any way we could. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the school administration and our teachers, as well as to the relevant departments of the Municipality of Kythira. We also thank all the individuals who supported our efforts with in-kind donations and financial contributions. We hope that next year will be a better one, with more favorable conditions, so that together we can achieve even more for our children.
We wish the parents, guardians, and students of our school a wonderful summer, filled with good health, quality leisure time, and we look forward to seeing you all again in September. To our graduates, the sixth-grade students, we wish you a successful career and progress at your new school, middle school.
With warm regards,
For the Board of Directors
