A preliminary investigation was ordered by the Athens Public Prosecutor's Office for the Court of First Instance following his statement POEDIN President M. Giannakou, regarding the 40-year-old woman nurse, who, after receiving the second dose of the vaccine against coronavirus, her lower limbs were paralyzed.
As part of the preliminary investigation, it is expected that an inquiry will be conducted to determine whether M. Giannakos committed the offense of the spread of fake news, as he made statements about paralysis caused by the vaccine before the doctors had reached a conclusion.
Specifically, he said that the 40-year-old «was in perfectly good health; it’s certain that this is a side effect of the vaccine; 400,000 people have been vaccinated and had no problems, but we’re saying that this colleague had absolutely no problems whatsoever. I am fully aware of what I’m saying. The doctors there are saying the same thing, that it is vaccine side effect. It's one in 400,000; that says absolutely nothing about vaccination; we're not saying anything bad about the vaccine—on the contrary—but My colleague is in a wheelchair and can't get up, and she's terrified», he noted.
