The following is a press release of the Kythera D.M.T.O. for the presence of the President of the Organization Antonis Mavrommatis at the inauguration of the new metro line in Piraeus.
At the special and very important moment for Piraeus (inauguration of the new Metro line) together with the Prime Minister Mr. Mitsotakis Kyriakos, was the president of the Kythera Mavrommatis Antonios. The importance of this event lies in the fact that:
- The connection from the port of Piraeus to the airport is now less than 50 minutes.
- 130 000 000 citizens can travel quickly and efficiently every day.
- Infrastructure for more tourism development of the local community and surrounding areas.
- Promotion of the archaeological findings of the area
- Significant decongestion of Piraeus
The Prime Minister of the country, together with his associates, boarded the station at Maniatika and after making a stop at the bridge that connects the port with the Metro and Piraeus, they disembarked at the Municipal Theatre, where he inaugurated a truly operational project that gives breath to the city of Piraeus and not an inauguration show with tarpaulins, engineers and simple architectural drawings.
