«We were informed last Wednesday by the government about the covid test, not for the self-test and we said, like all of Europe, if and when all pharmacies can do it to the standards that will be required, we want a fee, because we can't do free tests,» said the president of the European Commission, speaking to THEMA 104.6 President of the Pharmaceutical Association of Attica, Konstantinos Lourantos.
«The next day, the minister came out and said that the tests would be made available free of charge by the pharmacies, but he was talking about other tests» Mr. Lourantos pointed out.
«It is false, alleged and denounced by me, that we pharmacists asked for 15 euros for the self-test, we were talking about the covid test,» he added and noted that «they wanted to hurt me and the pharmacies.».
«Whoever uses the pharmacy must pay something», he added, since, as he explained, «someone comes to take the test, we have to pass it on a platform, set it, write the instructions, tell him how to do it».
«It's all fluff,» said Mr. Lourantos. «How do we get the tests, through what system, and how much does everyone get?» he questioned.
«Shouldn't the government give us a price?; How much is the test 2.50? 3 euros? 2.80? 30 minutes, 50 minutes?...» he added.
«We have to order it, get it, put it in a special place, have the citizen come in, put him through SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER on the platform, give him the instructions all this costs and we pay employees,» he concluded.
