Polytechnic: Great tension and beating between students

Scuffles and high tension broke out between groups of students and a delegation from SYRIZA which was located in the courtyard of the Polytechnic University  to lay a wreath on the morning of Wednesday, November 17.

They threw away the wreath from the interparliamentary committee

Earlier, tensions had flared up again when The students, who were gathered there, did not allow the interparliamentary committee to enter the premises and lay a wreath.

A group of people took the wreath down from the memorial and threw it away. Charalambos Athanasiou noted that «no political party, no political plan decided upon or organized the Polytechnic uprising. The individual responsibility that characterizes democracies in states governed by the rule of law is what spurred collective action and united everyone’s voices. Consequently, anyone who attempts to appropriate the struggles of the Greek people is insulting history. These young people were not even born or were still in their cribs when we were waging this struggle. This day is sacred, and we must forgive them. Long live the Polytechnic!.
