Almost all of us experience anger, more or less, more often or less often, for various reasons that can be related to, for example, the state of our finances, the poor functioning of public transport, problems at work...
Gallup's Global Emotions Report 2021 aimed to ”measure” emotions, including anger levels, in more than 100 countries around the world.
As it turns out, anger tends to manifest itself more frequently in certain parts of the world, particularly in the Middle and Near East.
The survey found that 49% of people in Lebanon had experienced anger the day before the survey and is the highest rate recorded among 100 countries.
But how can a Lebanese resident not be angry when the country is experiencing years of deep economic, political and financial crisis, when unemployment is soaring, households are mired in poverty and very often even in darkness due to problems in the electricity supply, while there is no light at the end of the tunnel?;
However, the percentage of angry citizens in Turkey (48%) is also extremely high (almost at the same level as Lebanon), whose inhabitants are facing a devastating wave of inflation reaching 73% and now most households are deprived of basic necessities and an oppressive regime.
The Armenians follow without much difference with a rate of 46%. The citizens of this country are also being severely tested, especially after the short war with Azerbaijan in 2020.
After years of war, which has now become a perverse form of normality, Iraqis and Afghans also have a long list of issues that they are very often angry about, which includes the lack of services provided by state institutions.
Mali and Sierra Leone were the angriest countries apart from those in the Middle East, Near East and Persia, with 35% of respondents having experienced anger in the previous day.
Undoubtedly the most...zen are the Finns with only 5% saying they felt angry the day before the survey.
Of course, Finland also for 2021 has been named as the the country with the happiest citizens and also ranks first among those offering the best quality of life, according to CEOWORLD magazine.
