The bad weather that hit Attica and many areas of the country, was characterized by strong winds, and as it seems to have affected the landing of aircraft at the airport «El. Venizelos» and the images recorded are impressive.
«The gusty winds on Saturday 11/12 made the work of the pilots at “Eleftherios Venizelos” Airport difficult», Meteo GR of the National Observatory of Athens notes in a Facebook post.
Landings on runway 21R during strong southerly wings at Athens airport (up to 45 knots).
Wind direction was “on” runway 21 so no go-arounds or cancellations.
