Six months ago the countdown began for the Petros Filippidis, who apologised to the investigating magistrate and was remanded in custody accused of a rape and two attempts, following allegations made against him by his colleagues. The well-known actor is expected within the day to be transferred to the prisons - probably to those of Tripoli.
How it all started
The first complaints against Petros Filippidis came on February 4, when three actors, the actress and the director of the film "The Anna Maria Papacharalambous, the Penelope Anastasopoulou and the Lena Drosaki filed a complaint against him with the Greek Actors' Union.
The complaints concerned lewd acts, verbal violence and insults to sexual dignity on and off stage and the complaint requested the deletion of the Peter Filippidis from Association of Greek Actors, which indeed happened some time later.
However, although these complaints did not lead to prosecution against the well-known actress - which were, after all, barred by the statute of limitations - led other women to make similar complaints to the competent authorities.
The prosecution investigation
Indeed, in the context of the prosecutorial investigation which began after the #meToo movement broke out, there were three complaints against the actor by women who recounted in detail what they had experienced.
The rape attributed to the artist by his colleague has allegedly committed in 2008 while the two attempts, according to the complaints, were committed in 2010 and 2014, with the complainants claiming that they were confronted with violent acts by the person under investigation while they were with him on business.
In the two complaints concerning attempted rape, the actor reportedly displays similar tactics towards his two colleagues, who report that when despite the violence he used on them, he did not achieve his goal, appears to have threatened them with professional disqualification.
