The Ecclesiastical Council of the Holy Church of Saint Myron in Antikythira extends its heartfelt thanks to the island’s distinguished son, Mr. Dionysios Galanakis, a distinguished professor of medicine at Stony Brook University Hospital in New York, for his recent significant donations to the Church of St. Myron: a new piece of furniture for the offertory box, new gold-embroidered velvet liturgical coverings, new ornate silver candlesticks and liturgical vessels, and a large portable icon of St. Myron depicting scenes from his martyrdom, from the renowned iconography workshop of the Holy Monastery of Panagia Ypseni in Rhodes. All of the above donations were made at the urging of the Vice President of the Ecclesiastical Council, Mr. Efstratios Charchalakis, Mayor of Kythira and Antikythira.

We pray that the All-Good God, through the intercession of the Holy Martyr and Wonderworker Saint Myron, will grant Mr. Galanakis good health—both personally and for his family— so that for many years to come he may bring honor to his hometown and his profession.
