The Primary School of Chora Kythira is faced with serious shortage of teaching staff, as well as two sections have no teachers, causing concern and upset to the students' families. The problem has emerged by parents, who express their strong indignation and ask for an immediate solution from the Ministry of Education.
The Municipal Authority of Kythera, seeing the seriousness of the situation, proceeded to an official intervention to the Directorate of Primary Education Piraeus, requesting immediate filling of vacancies with substitute teachers.
Ο Deputy Mayor of Kythera, Dimitrios Kalligeros, in a letter to February 5, 2025, to the Primary Education Directorate of Piraeus, stressed the need to immediate solution to the problem.
«Recently there have been serious shortages of teaching staff at Chora Primary School, where two sections currently have no teachers. This fact, as is obvious, has created serious problems in the proper functioning of the school and has caused great inconvenience to the families of the students.», the letter states.
The Municipality of Kythera asks for immediate filling of vacancies and placement of substitute teachers as soon as possible, so as not to lose valuable educational time.
