Later, when Kapodistrias came, he appointed him the first president of the Court of Appeal of Nafplio.

After the movement on 3 September 1843 he was elected president of the First National Assembly, at the age of 103.

then Otto awarded him the Grand Cross, while a few months later he appointed him senator.

But he was too old to perform his duties

He retired to Trikala, Corinthia and died on 18 January 1849
