On 29 October 2012, an area of 2,979 square meters was burned in Kastri Mylopotamos, Rethymno. In May 2013, the area was declared to be reforested by a decision of the Decentralised Administration of Crete, because «the natural vegetation of the area in question, consisting of woody individuals of pruinus, schinus, aspalathos, dramithea and wild locust, covered its surface in a percentage that gave it the appearance of a forest». Is that all right?;
On Friday 6/8/2021 the Government Gazette (517/D/2021) was published with a new decision of the Decentralized Administration of Crete as the Journal of the Editors writes
REPEALING the earlier decision and ordering the reclamation of the area
because it was «preached out of error»!
The declassification as reforestation of the area was decided by the coordinator of the Decentralized Administration of Crete, following a recommendation of the Directorate of Forests of Rethymnon on 15/6/2021.
