“Friends, there are seven days left until the elections on 21 May. And your presence here today fills me with strength and makes me feel even stronger, even more responsible towards you, so that we can continue to provide solutions to the problems facing Kythera.
And let me mention before I get into my keynote address, the loss of a friend, a Tsirigotis, who served the community apartment here in Livadi and the island, Nikos Vardas. He will be missed by his family and friends.”.
This was stressed, among other things, speaking in Kythera, the Deputy Minister of Shipping and Island Policy and deputy of the New Democracy in the A’ Piraeus and Islands Mr. Kostas Katsafados.
Katsafados pointed out that:
“What I am interested in is to use every hour of my time to tell you how we are going to make Greece better in the next four years. We can make it much better, and we can also strengthen our islands to develop the local economy, tourism, but also to promote their potential.
Because we have achieved a lot in four years, in the midst of very great difficulties, a pandemic, a refugee crisis, a neighbour who was constantly creating problems for us, an energy crisis. But we kept society on its feet, we supported the world of work, we supported small and medium-sized enterprises. We secured the country, we protected our borders, we strengthened our armed forces, we made Greece more credible abroad, with a voice that can be heard from Congress to Brussels. In other words, we have laid the foundations for the Greece of the next four years. A Greece which, first and foremost, must be able to produce wealth and prosperity for Greeks. That is why our efforts must not be wasted, why we must not turn back. To a yesterday that hurt us and deprived the new generation of a better tomorrow.
Mr. Kostas Katsafados was introduced by the Mayor of Kythera Mr. Efstratios Harhalakis, who referred to the help he has offered both as Deputy Minister and as a Member of Parliament in solving problems such as water supply projects, but also the projects and infrastructure of the Port Fund, and of course the second ferry route for the island. These projects also bear the signature of Kostas Katsafadou.
Today, Monday, Kostas Katsafados will deliver his keynote speech at 8pm at Korai Square.
