The following are expected to face increased costs: households who choose to heat their homes this winter with petroleum.
According to estimates and based on price trends, the heating oil It will be about 40% more expensive than last year. Thus, the average price will be between approximately 1.05 and 1.10 euros per liter.
Heating Allowance
At the same time, the basis for calculating it will be 20% higher this year heating allowance. This increase will not result in a change to the income and asset criteria so that more people can receive the same benefit that was provided last year, but rather through an increase in the base allowance, which currently stands at 220 euros and can range from 80 to 650 euros depending on the number of children and the specific coefficient applicable to the beneficiary’s primary place ofresidence.
In practical terms, this means that the calculation basis of 220 euros could increase by 44 euros, bringing it to 264 euros.
The 20% increase is expected to be applied to both the lower and upper benefit limits, bringing them to 96 and 780 euros, respectively. To be eligible for the heating allowance, a person must purchase heating oil worth twice the amount of the subsidy they will receive.
According to the current ministerial decision, the income and asset criteria have been set as follows:
- Unmarried: Up to €12,000
- Married: Up to €20,000 plus €2,000 for each child
- Single-parent household: Up to 22,000 € plus 2,000 €
- Real estate: Up to €130,000 (unmarried) – €250,000 (married)
