• Application/Statement of Preferences submitted to OPSYD by candidates for placement in schools on Wednesday, October 9, 2024.
• Deadline for assuming duties from the Friday, the 11th up to Monday, October 14, 2024 at schools, KEDASY centers, and the Sivitanidios Institute, on a case-by-case basis for each hiring. If they are assigned to more than one school, they must begin their service at the school where they will provide the most teaching hours.
Substitute teachers will be notified via SMS of the school or KEDASY where they will be assigned to work on Thursday, October 10, 2024.

Budget cuts this year in primary school special education programs as well, where, although the number of participating schools has increased (1,228 elementary schools joined the ZEP this year, compared to 1,093 last year), funding has decreased (only 910 allocations for PE70 and 49 for PE30, compared to 950 PE70 allocations and 48 PE30 allocations last year).
In other words, last year approval was granted to hire 950 teachers for 1,093 schools with established after-school programs, whereas this year, approval has been granted to hire 910 teachers, even though there are 1,228 schools with established special education programs.
