New coordinating committee in the Organization of SYRIZA Members - Progressive Alliance of Kythera

The coordinating committee of the SYRIZA-PS Kythira Members' Organization was unanimously constituted after the elections of March 10, 2024. The new coordinating committee sets as a primary goal the return of the party to large strong percentages so that the citizen can be a protagonist in the political events of the next period.

The new coordinating committee is expected to take initiatives immediately so that all members of the party are utilized and the Social SYRIZA PS takes the reins of politics.

The new Coordination Committee is composed of:

• Prekkas Ippolytos, coordinator (with policy planning, communication and press office duties)
• Mayirou Elena, Deputy Coordinator (responsible for agricultural policy, environment and development programmes)
• Mavrommatis Emmanuel (with self-government and daily tasks)
• Vassiou Katerina (with cultural, sports and NPI tasks)
• Gremi Qazim - John (with migration and human rights duties)
• Paschalis Koulouris (with tourism and fishing duties)
• Touri Vaso (with responsibility for education and youth)

The major issues - problems on which the new coordination group will be called upon to discuss and develop proposals always in full synergy with the local community are:

• precision and government measures that do not work
• our hospital, which after efforts, struggles and with the absolute support of the SYRIZA government, has been on its feet and now we are witnessing almost daily a generalized devaluation by the policies of the current government in Health.
• the agricultural issues that concern many of our fellow citizens
• the demographic issue of Kythera, which has recorded a population decline in the last 10 years 10%
• the issue of the lack of workers and the staffing of businesses on the island
• the improvement of transport and the upgrading of the security of our airport and the port of Diakofti
• The issues arising from the climate crisis, energy policy and pollution - pollution of our unique and special environment.

We will seek in close cooperation with our party's sectoral leaders to raise the issues in Parliament and seek the best policies to resolve them.

The large participation of old and new members and friends in the processes, the rich dialogue that develops and the willingness to act, are a guarantee for the realization of our collective goals.

Finally, we express our respect and thanks to the coordinator Manos Trifylli for his work and his enormous dedication and contribution to the cause of SY.RIZ.A.-PS.
