Large donation of Efstratios Kasimatis to the KIPA

To Kythira Foundation for Culture and Development and its Honorary President and Founder, George I. Casimatis, are pleased to announce to Kytherians everywhere and to the Friends of Kythera the donation of a 34-acre estate in the location of Milapidea, in which the English School of the same name is located, by our well-known compatriot dentist, Mr. Efstratios Kasimatis for the fulfilment of the public benefit purposes of the Foundation.

The English School is managed by the Domestic Property Committee and its restoration and use for cultural purposes has promoted - together with the English School of Mylopotamos- our Foundation. It is noted that the land for the construction of the English School was offered by the donor's forefather, Julius Kasimatis, and its construction was done by the well-known from the history of Kythera, artist «builder» Nikolaos Faceas or Fouriaris, who had also constructed the bell tower of Panagia of Myrtidia.

The donation of Mr. Efstratios Kasimatis, which highlights his public-spirited feelings for the development of his homeland, places him first in the Foundation's list of Great Benefactors.

The President and the Members of the Board of Directors and the Founder of the Foundation express the deep gratitude of themselves and the people of Kythera for the public-spirited feelings of the Donor for our homeland and hope that other small and large donors will follow him for its cultural and qualitative development, as well as for the international promotion of the rare natural and historical environment of our island.

The Board of Directors of the Kythira Foundation for Culture and Development decided
unanimously:

1. To publish the above donation announcement on the Foundation's website and
   in the Kytherian media.
2. To send a letter of thanks from the Foundation and its Founder to
   Donor Mr. Efstratios Kasimatis.
3. To proclaim him and include him in the Roll of Honour of the Great
   Benefactors of the Foundation.
4. Award the Donor the due honors of the Grand Benefactor in a special
   public event of the Foundation.
