The Board of Directors of the Kytheraiki Brotherhood of Piraeus - Athens expresses its deepest sorrow for the loss of a prominent Kytherian and a distinguished member, George Casimatis, distinguished constitutional scholar, academic teacher and prominent figure in the country's public life.
Georgios Casimatis was one of the most important Greek constitutionalists, with a rich scientific and literary output, deep commitment to democratic principles and human rights. With his ethos, knowledge and commitment to the defence of the rule of law, he honoured his science and Greece as Advisor to the Prime Minister of Greece. For his homeland his Kythira worked with an eye to the future and served as President of the Triphylion Foundation of Kythera and founder of K.I.P.A.
In extraordinary meeting held on October 5, 2025, the Board of Directors of the Kytheraiki Brotherhood of Piraeus - Athens decided unanimously:
- The expression of warm feelings condolences to the relatives of the deceased.
- The Representation the Board of Directors at the funeral service.
- The deposit of 300 euros, instead of a wreath, at Kythira Foundation for Culture and Development (KIPA).
The Kytheraiki Brotherhood of Piraeus - Athens respectfully bids farewell to a excellent scientist, academic teacher and active member of the Kythirian society, who honoured the island with his life and work.
