Call for Expressions of Interest for a Ferry Service to Kalamata with Kythera, the Antikythera and the Crete, issued by the Ministry of Shipping and Island Policy. According to the announcement, the call for bids will cover two sailings per week for a period of five years, initially covering the period from November 1, 2021, to October 31, 2022.
The deadline for ferry companies to submit expressions of interest was May 14, but it is not yet known whether any bids were submitted.
It should be noted that the last voyage on the Kalamata – Crete route was in 2017, operated by the ship “Vitsentzos Kornaros,” with the already limited number of sailings at that time being suspended in the middle of the summer season.
