The epic serial «Ship for Kythera» played today new episode and one of the most enjoyable. In just a few hours, the competent authorities (and of course we are referring to local port authorities - Ministry of Shipping who are responsible, and not to the ferry company that cannot cancel routes on its own, nor to the poor agents who try to inform us in time) they managed to mess us up three times - and each time with a completely different scenario. The only thing missing was the background music from soap opera horror and landscapes with daisies where poor civilians plunder them..: «Will he come, won't he come, will he come?».
Waking up in the morning with bad news:
The first announcement informed us that the route from Kissamos to Antikythera and Kythera is cancelled due to «adverse weather conditions». When we say «adverse weather», we mean these unbearable Beaufort 6 - also known as the «sea caress» for any decent ship. Just look at the sea of Kythera on Meteo and you will understand:

Shortly afterwards, the message was upgraded and told us that there will be no service. Period. Yes, sir. Forget it. Not from Kissamos, not from Gythio, nothing. Paddle and see.
The icing on the cake:
And just when we had accepted the fate and thought to sharpen the spoons for the Lenten halva, comes the third communication. And what does it tell us? «Finally the itinerary will be done! At 17:00 from Gythio and at 19:45 back». So, with 6 Beaufort, the ship can finally make it. With 7 we imagine it would take off. Call whoever is left in Athens, to repack the car and take action...
The passengers of Kythera, classically, in the role of a «chewing daisy»... Every hour a new episode, every announcement another scenario. One thing's for sure, on this island you never get bored. As for whether the ship finally makes it, we suggest we light up a candle to Our Lady of Myrtidiotissa.
