Kyllini launches a new era with seaplanes!

A Strategic Hub for the Ionian Islands and the Peloponnese

Another major approval for takeoffs and landings has been finalized …!! The development of the national seaplane network is moving forward, as the destination Kyllini It officially received the «green light» from the relevant authorities, paving the way for the seaplanes to begin commercial operations.

Kyllini is entering the maritime aviation chart and serves as a gateway to the Ionian Islands as well as a connection point to approved destinations Alimos, Kalamata, Eratini, and Patras serving as a strategic hub for the Hellenic Seaplanes.

At the same time, the company, in close collaboration with the Municipality of Kyllini–Andravida and Mayor Ioannis Lenzas as well as Kyllini Port Authority, chaired by Mr. Konstantinos Hantzis They have already completed the onshore infrastructure, and with the installation of the floating dock, they are preparing for the first flights.

In particular, the Hellenic Seaplanes Just as in the case of Kalamata, it is preparing familiarization flights to the port of Kyllini in the near future, so that the people of Elis can also get a firsthand look at the seaplanes and what they can do!

With the announcement of the approval of the Kyllini Water Basin, The President and CEO of Hellenic Seaplanes, Mr. Nicolas Charalambous, he emphasized:

«Kyllini is officially joining our network, offering seaplanes direct access to the Ionian Sea and the Peloponnese. The approval of the infrastructure marks another decisive step toward launching regular routes that will bring travelers closer to unique travel experiences. Hellenic Seaplanes, in collaboration with the local community and relevant authorities, is moving forward vigorously to realize its vision of a fully operational seaplane network throughout Greece.».

From his point of view, The Mayor of Kyllini, Mr. Lenzas stated: «The approval of the Kyllini Wetland Area is a milestone for our region. It creates new opportunities for tourism development, enhances our region’s visibility, and brings Kyllini closer to the Ionian Islands and the rest of the Peloponnese. The Municipality will continue to actively support new investments in the region and will serve as a partner in the implementation of such important projects.».

The President of the DMr. Konstantinos Hantzis of the Kyllini Municipal Port Fund, emphasized:

«The operation of the Kyllini waterway is a strategic addition to our port and opens up new prospects for mobility and tourism development.».

Hellenic Seaplanes continues to methodically expand its network of seaplane bases, with the goal of creating a comprehensive system of connections that will transform the transportation landscape in Greece.
