Experts' fears were confirmed as a new negative record was set today with 9,284 cases. This far exceeded the 8,613 infections announced on 9/11/2021.
According to the EODY, 66 more people have died in the last 24 hours. There has been an increase in the number of intubated patients, which has risen from 624 to 629.
Today, Monday 27 December, EODY announced:
«The new laboratory-confirmed cases of the disease recorded in the last 24 hours are 9,284 , of which 11 were detected following checks at the country's entry gates. The total number of cases is 1,084,153 (daily change +0.9%), of which 50.4% are males. Based on the confirmed cases in the last 7 days, 192 are considered to be associated with travel from abroad and 1,838 are associated with an already known case.
The new deaths of patients with COVID-19 are 66, with a total of 20,496 deaths recorded since the start of the epidemic. 95.2% had underlying disease and/or age 70 years or older.
The number of hospitalized intubated patients is 629 (58.7% men). Their median age is 63 years. 79.7% have an underlying disease and/or age 70 years or older. Among intubated patients, 533 (84.74%) are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 96 (15.26%) are fully vaccinated. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 3,721 patients have been discharged from ICUs.
The admissions of new Covid-19 patients to hospitals in the territory are 289 (daily change -4.3%). The seven-day average admission rate is 317 patients.
The median age of cases is 38 years (range 0.2 to 122 years), while the median age of deaths is 78 years (range 0.2 to 106 years).»
