The National Public Health Organization (EODY) announced on the afternoon of Tuesday, September 7, that there were 2,807 new laboratory-confirmed cases of the coronavirus, of which 18 were detected during inspections at the country's entry points.
The total number of cases stands at 605,158 (daily change +0.6%), of which 51.0% are men. Based on confirmed cases from the past 7 days, 144 are considered to be related to travel from abroad, and 1,764 are linked to a previously known case.
The number of patients currently hospitalized and on ventilators is 388 (60.6% men). Their median age is 65 years. The 82.0% group has an underlying medical condition and/or is 70 years of age or older. Among the patients hospitalized and intubated, 349 (89.95%) are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 39 (10.05%) are fully vaccinated. Since the start of the pandemic, 3,015 patients have been discharged from ICUs.
The number of new COVID-19 patients admitted to hospitals nationwide is 229 (daily change: +24,46%). The seven-day average of admissions is 233 patients.
There have been 38 new deaths among COVID-19 patients, While a total of 13,971 deaths have been recorded since the start of the pandemic. 95.4% had an underlying medical condition and/or was 70 years of age or older.
Over the past 24 hours, 2,714 molecular tests and 88,529 rapid tests were conducted. Out of a total of 110,243 tests, the positivity rate is estimated at 2.55%.
