On Friday 25 June, the Kythira Foundation for Culture and Development presented with great success in the central square of Chora, in Kythira, the theatrical performance Ornithes by Aristophanes, with on the occasion of the completion of the course of the children's program «Skatzouromata».
15 volunteer artists helped create this performance - set designers, costume designers, musicians, sound designers, lighting designers, stewards and assistants. We thank them all from the bottom of our hearts for volunteering their talents to make this show a success, which impressed the audience that attended.
We would like to thank the sponsors of the performance - Municipality of Kythera, Kythera Association of Chora and «Vengera» café. .
But, first of all, KIPA thanks the initiators of this performance, the Despina Petta and Chrysa Koutsiafti for the excellent work they have done with the children of the island through the «Skatzouromata» programme, the children's music and theatre workshop that started this winter under the auspices of the Foundation. KIPA is doubly proud of this partnership and seeks to support similar initiatives by members of the local community.
Finally, the KIPA with the performance «Birds» marks its intention to highlight the natural wealth of birds that exist in Kythera, through various actions. In this goal we have the support of the Hellenic Ornithological Society, which was present at the event, providing printed material about the multitude of birds living on our island and with which we look forward to closer cooperation in the near future.
