His strong dissatisfaction with the delay in the restoration of the irrigation network in Mylopotamos is publicly expressed by citizen Dimitris Zervos, ten months after the devastating fire that hit the area.
Through a post on social media, accompanied by relevant photographic material and video, he denounces the negligence of the municipal authority, while leaving spikes for the wider management of the water resources of the village.
Burnt 25 meters of pipe and the comparison with the PPC
According to Mr.Zervos, the damage involves a 25-meter section of plastic pipe, which had been replaced some time before the outbreak of last year's fire. To this day, this damage remains without any repair on the part of the municipality.
Particularly striking is the comparison made by the resident between the reflexes of the Municipality and those of the DEDDIE. As he points out - and is reflected in the photos - the electricity company has already undertaken a complete rehabilitation of its own infrastructure, installing new poles, panels and meters. On the contrary, he claims that the municipality «to date has done nothing».
Plenty of water waiting for... settlement
The problem becomes more pronounced this year, as, as evidenced by the audiovisual material in the post, water in the springs and streams of Mylopotamos flows abundantly. The delay in the restoration of the irrigation system prevents the full and proper utilization of this natural supply by residents and farmers.
Mr.Zervos closes his intervention with a clear, cautionary message to those responsible, leaving open the possibility of returning with broader issues: «My intention is not to open the issue of the waters of Mylopotamos. I will wait a while.».
