«Blue» episode in... Piraeus

An unusual incident—especially for the holiday season—took place at the Metropolis of Piraeus’s New Year’s cake-cutting ceremony. Among those present were, among others, Domna Michailidou and the president of the Hellenic Confederation of Commerce and Entrepreneurship (ESEE), Vasilis Korkidis, who, upon seeing the deputy minister, sharply criticized her for the… criticism she has leveled against «The Smile of the Child.» As is well known, the deputy minister has waged a fierce battle against the organization, and the president of the Hellenic Confederation of Commerce and Entrepreneurship (ESEE) urged her to stop, saying that «The Smile» carries out social work. Of course, many see the upcoming elections as the cause of the incident, as Domna is a political rival of the current MP and Korkidis’s son-in-law, Yiannis Mela. The incident, however, ended quickly, and at least Michailidou left with a smile, since she found the coin right after.
