After contacting the mayor of Kythera and Antikythera, Mr. Efstr. Arsenis and the answer of the Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy Mr. Tagaras, he told us the following:
«The arguments in the City's and the Enchorii's briefs are well-documented and strong and are entirely valid. Anything that bypasses or ignores it is not even open to comment.».
He even referred us to his previous statement according to which:
«Immediately after the licensing of production (and not installation) by RAE for wind farms in Kythera (which I was the first to find out by sending the first written protest immediately), we moved in a methodical and coordinated way in every direction and especially legally. All of us who are concerned about this issue do not necessarily have the same reactions; after all, one's environmental sensitivity is not weighed in the balance or measured by the way one reacts. Municipality, Home, bodies and citizens ask the obvious: that Kythera does not cover the energy weakness of the rest of the country. Clear and unambiguous».
«The ownership of Kythera and the existence of the Domestic Property is an insurmountable obstacle to any industrial appetite and cannot be circumvented. The land is ours by presumption, ownership and management, WE decide whether to lease it for wind turbines or not.».
