On Monday, October 18, 2021, the Mayor of Kythera, Mr. Efstratios Harhalakis held a meeting with the Director of the National Meteorological Service (EMY), Brigadier General (MT), Mr. Athanasios Gatopoulos, and the Director of the Air Defense Fund (TAA), Wing Commander (O), Mr. Georgios Angelonidis. The Municipality’s Legal Advisor, Mr. Antonis Semitekolos, also participated in the meeting.
The purpose of the meeting was to examine the legal options for utilizing the old meteorological station in Chora, Kythira, which has been abandoned for years., which, pursuant to a 1951 donation agreement, is owned by the TAA. All relevant facts and the legal implications of the matter were thoroughly examined, and the issue will be discussed in detail with the supervising authority as well.
