It was Saturday morning, and as I was browsing the websites of local media outlets, I saw Mr. Harchalakis’s post with the comment «As long as you keep littering, we’ll keep painting,» accompanied by two photos showing the following: In the first, a rainwater collection tank with a concrete back wall painted with a Greek flag. On either side of the Greek flag are the words “FREE PALESTINE” in English. In the second photograph, we see exactly the same background, except that on either side of the flag, the words mentioned above have been painted over with white paint and erased.
Disgust and shame immediately overwhelmed me.
Seriously, who’s going to rid us of this «gentleman’s» filth? He’s a disgrace to society, to all people who possess even a modicum of empathy.
We are living in an era when the dregs of the past are coming back to life through their descendants. Adolf’s grandchildren, the rot of the dungeon, have reemerged onto the stage of bourgeois arrogance. This is how the lyrics describe the reappearance of the descendants of Nazi collaborators.
Mr. Charchalakis should have heard or even read (though the latter is probably a bit difficult) the speech given by Ms. Francesca Albanese (UN Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories) at Panteion University. Her accounts of the crimes against humanity being committed by the Israelis and their allies in Gaza. A state that has been accused
one of the two highest courts in the world for war crimes and crimes against humanity.
The residents of Jerusalem are familiar with this gentleman’s way of life and conduct, as well as his distinctive character and his democratic views. The self-proclaimed monarch, along with his sycophants (see: profiteers, loan sharks, etc.) and the herd that follows them, consider the Municipality of Kythira to be their personal fiefdom. They haven’t grasped this, and the truth is, they’re having a very hard time realizing that they represent all the people of Kythira and are not merely local representatives of those in power.
They should keep their political views to themselves.
I wonder, will there be any reaction—even just regarding the cost of the weapons—from the opposition? Will there be a statement from the Democrats in Athens? From all those who are supposedly concerned about the future of Kythira?;
