Only for 3 months will be the free of charge 50 GB to young people 15-17 years old, announced at the TIF by the Kyriakos Mitsotakis as an incentive to get vaccinated. «As for adolescents aged 15 to 17, those who are vaccinated will have another incentive to combine health protection with communication or online hobbies. We will offer them 50 gigabytes of free data on their mobile phones as a recognition and incentive,» the Prime Minister said, failing, however, to say that there will be an expiry date.
However, the relevant amendment of the Ministry of Health submitted to Parliament, clarifies that the package «Freedom Pass/Data» remains «activated for a period of three months from its activation, while, after this period of time has elapsed, it is automatically switched off».
What is the reason for the existence of this term and who it serves, remains to be answered by the government. It was only for for reasons of sensationalism that 50 GB was announced, which is difficult to be consumed by high school students in such a short period of time? And, would it cost that much to the mobile phone companies remain active until exhausted;
According to the amendment, the free data package will be given to adolescents aged 15-17 years who have received at least the first or only dose of the coronavirus vaccine by 31.12.2021.
For the purpose of granting the facility, the following shall be established special application on gov.gr.
The parents take responsibility for entering the children's details in the application (mobile phone provider, phone number, child's social security number). Applications must be submitted by 31.12.2021.
The same amendment defines the remuneration of private medical practitioners carrying out vaccinations, at home at EUR 30 for each instalment and EUR 50 for single instalments, and at the doctor's surgery at EUR 15 and EUR 20 respectively. The reimbursement for the bodies implementing the national vaccination programme shall also be EUR 15 and EUR 20.
Nassos Iliopoulos: Promises of a quarter, mockery of a lifetime
«After the 1,200 euros, which became 100, today we learned that the Mitsotakis promises for data expire in the quarter,» commented caustically the spokesperson of SYRIZA - Progressive Alliance Nassos Iliopoulos.
«Quarterly promises, mockery of a lifetime» he tweeted.
«Along with the data though and the time of a government is running out, which only knows how to defend the interests of the few», Nassos Iliopoulos stressed.
After 1,200 euros, which became 100, today we learned that Mitsotakis' promises for data expire in three months. Quarterly promises, mockery for life. However, along with data, the time of a government that only knows how to defend the interests of the few is also coming to an end.
