Tomorrow (Tuesday), at 10:00, the president of “Spartans” Vassilis Stigas is going to testify to the prosecutor of the Supreme Court Georgia Adilini, who will conduct a preliminary investigation regarding his statements in Parliament about “Greek Mafia and Don Corleone”.
It is recalled that the party president, last Thursday, August 31, during the debate in Parliament on the fires, said, among other things, in his speech, on the occasion of the absence of all his MPs from the benches: “The gentlemen who are missing today are led and driven by extra-parliamentary centres. I say this with the courage of my conviction. These centres are reminiscent of the Greek Mafia and Don Corleone.
Stigas said, among other things, this morning, on MEGA TV station, regarding his statements about the Greek Mafia: «When a man makes a statement on behalf of others and it is not so, he wants to impose himself in his own way. This way clearly resembles mafia.».
At the same time, the party chairman claimed that he could go it alone, while reiterated his support for Ilias Kasidiaris for the Municipality of Athens, stressing: “I support Kasidiaris for the Municipality of Athens, even though we have ideological and practical differences. This man supported me. In general, if he had not supported me, I and the Spartans would not have entered the Parliament. We have come full circle with Kasidiaris. He supported me, I supported him.”.
Stigas also stated that the brother of Ilias Kasidiaris is a temporary employee of an MP of the “Spartans”.
Two departures, three deletions: With 7 deputies, the Spartans are now in a state of flux.«
The letter of the president of the party «Spartans» V. Stigas, which puts out of the parliamentary group I. Kontis, I. Dimitrokalis and H. Katsivardas, as well as the letters of, elected with the same party, G. Manousos and K. Florou, with which they inform the Parliament that they are becoming independent, read out, at the beginning of today's plenary session of the Parliament, the second vice-president of the Parliament, G. Georgantas.
It is noted that, following this development, the parliamentary group «Spartans», which entered the Parliament with 12 MPs, now consists of 7 MPs, occupying the last place in terms of parliamentary strength. (ND 158, SYRIZA-PS 47, PASOK-Movement for Change 32, KKE 21, Hellenic Solution 12, Niki 10, Eleftherias 9, Spartyates 8, independents 5).
