Her rich career
He was born in Kypseli in 1947. Since her childhood she wanted to become an actress. She grew up in a bourgeois environment, which had nothing to do with the theatre, and her parents did not want her to do so either. When she was sent to Switzerland to study, she snuck back and took her exams at the National. It was there that she first met Stamatis Fassoulis, with whom she was in the same class.
Together with Stamatis Fassoulis, they were key members of the Free Theatre -almost from its beginnings- and starred in its first big hit And you comb your hair, which made it known and loved by the public. They staged performances of varied repertoire, from Brecht to Hurmuzis. They gained a permanent home when they moved to the Pangratio Grove. At the same time, until then, the participants of the company were engaged in other jobs for a living. [1] In 1980, the Free Theatre was discontinued and the Free Stage was founded by Anna Panagiotopoulou and Stamatis Fassoulis, which was essentially a renaming of the Free Theatre. Anna Panagiotopoulou continued with revues, in which she acted but also wrote the script.
She became widely known through her participation in television series, first on state and then on private television. The milestone of her television career (and her personal ”favourite”) is considered to be her incarnation of «Madame Susou» in the adaptation of the novel of the same name by Dimitris Psathas in the 1986-87 season (along with Thanasis Papageorgiou, Angelos Antonopoulos, Natasha Asiki, etc.).
The series were also a huge success: The Three Graces (alongside Mina Adamakis, Nena Mendi, Anna Kyriakou) and Dolce Vita (with Katiana Balanika, Maria Kavogianni, Maria Foka, Thanasis Efthymiadis, Katerina Ziogou, Pavlos Orkopoulos, Galini Tseva etc.), which are considered ”classics”.
During the 2003-2004 television season, he co-starred with Fotis Sergoulopoulos, Christos Efthimiou, Menios Sakellaropoulos, Kleonas Grigoriadis and Matthilda Mangira in the game show The Millionaire Show, which premiered in October 2003 on MEGA.
On television he has appeared in many series and films: Safe Sex, Crying Came from Paradise, Oxygen, Strictly Appropriate, Wildlife, Greek Short Story, Madame Susu, Fruitopia, Inspection, The Three Graces, High Rock, Eliza and the Others, Rosalia, Dolce Vita, The Miss Hexamartin, Monachus Monachus, Miss Margarita, Little Sins, Patra-Venice, Nanny, Eat Your Chocolate, I Love You Forever, Seven Deadly Mothers-in-Law, The Red Room.
