On Saturday, June 15th, in the courtyard of the Tsiklitiras house in Pylos, at 8 pm, the twinning ceremony of the Municipality of Pylos - Nestoros with the Municipality of Kythera will take place. The twinning protocol will be signed by the two mayors, Panagiotis Karvelas on behalf of the Municipality of Pylos - Nestoros and Efstratios Harchalakis on behalf of the Municipality of Kythera.
The event will include a speech by the mayors - signing of the protocol and exchange of gifts and will be followed by the “Kalamata Music Ensemble”, violin - cello - piano. According to the information from the Messinian municipality, among other things, the twinning protocol provides for “the consolidation and further development of fraternal ties between the two municipalities, with the exchange of experiences, knowledge and visits in the fields of culture, sports, tourism and the expansion in other areas of the two municipalities”. Earlier, before 6 p.m., in Pylos, the reception of the miraculous icon of Panagia Myrtidiotissa, patron saint of Kythera, and the horn of Saint Theodoros of Koroni, at the parish church of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary, is scheduled. At 6.30 a great vespers will be celebrated, presided by the Metropolitan of Kythera and Antikythera Seraphim. At 9 pm, a banquet for guests is planned. On Sunday 16th of the month, at 7 am, the holy relics will be transported to the town of Koroni, birthplace of Saint Theodoros, where at 7.45 am they will be received at the pilgrimage of Panagia Eleistria and will be followed by a Eucharistic service by the bishops of Kythera and Antikythera Seraphim and Chrysostomos of Messinia.
At 10 am, a coffee morning for guests and at 12 noon, a gala lunch for guests.
