His team University of the Aegean, presents on Wednesday, 16/06, online, through the platform ZOOM, two new «intelligent farming» tools that will be very useful for olive growers of Kythera.

«The primary purpose of the programme Terra Kytheria, is the multifaceted empowerment of Kythera's oil producers.
In this context, the University of the Aegean, developed two ‘tools’, with which producers will be able to control, adapt and manage their crops quickly and easily. At the same time, these tools, which consist of an app for smart phones and a web-based geo-base, will also facilitate and greatly simplify the certification process.
With pleasure, we invite you to the Wednesday 16 June, at 19.00 the presentation of these tools by the team of the University of the Aegean, led by Professor Thanasis Kizo. During the presentation, an explanation of how to use the tools will be given, which will be made available free of charge to all interested producers.
Attendance of the online meeting by producers participating in the programme is very important.
The program Terra Kytheria aims to support olive growers and promote Kythera's olive oil. It is based on a cultivation and certification system, which will be adapted to local methods and will preserve the island's traditional agricultural landscapes and biodiversity. The programme is implemented by the Kythira Foundation for Culture & Development (KIPA) and the Mediterranean Institute for Nature and Man (MedINA), in cooperation with Agricultural Olive Oil Cooperative of Potamos, the Agricultural Cooperative of Livadi, the University of the Aegean, the University of Patras and with the AK&P team of consultants, experts in the promotion of agricultural products.»
