In the course of a supplementary disciplinary investigation against Alexis Kougias, the attorney for the convicted former artistic director of the National Theater, Dimitris Lignadis, the head of the Disciplinary Councils of the Athens Bar Association (ABA), Zisis Konstantinou, proceeded with the supplementary disciplinary investigation.
The supplementary preliminary disciplinary investigation against Mr. Kougias was ordered by Mr. Konstantinou, as the lawyer in question posted on his website personal photographs of Dimitris Lignadis’s plaintiffs as well as witnesses, describing them, among other things, «ruthless, militant professional homosexuals» who allegedly misled «Greek society and innocent Greek citizens—heads of households—for 18 months.» It should be noted that the photographs published by Mr. Kougias come, as he himself stated in his relevant announcement, from the public Instagram accounts of the individuals in question.
Following the supplementary disciplinary investigation, Mr. Kougias was reportedly asked to submit a statement tomorrow to Mr. Katsanis, the disciplinary rapporteur for the Dimitris Lignadis trial, a statement of defense regarding his controversial post, as well as to submit the photographs of the individuals he had published. Furthermore, Mr. Kougias was asked to submit a brief regarding the previous preliminary investigation ordered in the Lignadis case, both against him and against attorney Yiannis Vlachos, who served as a civil party’s counsel in the same trial.
