What's the matter with those people in Karavas? Why do they want to cause trouble? Are they just claiming the obvious? What is someone who doesn't know and watches from a distance to believe? Let's see, in a nutshell, what they have been doing there for two years.
One of the many wells that the municipality of Kythera has decided to drill is located in Diakopoulianika of Karavas. There was an old (perhaps 30 years old), now inactive borehole which the residents themselves, who built and used it, considered it responsible for the reduction of water in the source of Keramari (the most important source of Karavas at the moment and with the “best” water quality based on recent tests). When they realized that a new one would be opened next to the old one that would go twice as deep, they were scared. They asked that the drilling not take place until we are sure, as far as possible, that no damage will be done to the springs and the gully. A year later, the city shows up again with a new permit (I wonder why?) and goes to drill the land. Again the locals tried to come to an understanding but now things had changed.
The mayor of Kythera had called the police and started the scare. But the residents from the first to the last moment behaved with sobriety. Not because they were afraid of the threats of self-incrimination and other such nonsense, nor because they were afraid that he would reveal the illegalities to them, as he threatened. Perhaps they even did him a favor. If small and large people would have been tree-hugging around the drill, he would have become the first mayor in the history of the island to send people to autopsy. Eventually, the residents made some complaints and it's the courts' turn, unfortunately. The drill started digging and after two days it was gone without a single update.

Unfortunately, this is the level. We will avoid calling him and what he writes a name. We will leave it to the judgement of the people who are following the development of this story, but after clarifying that this gentleman is not telling it so well.
-nor has there ever been a briefing from a deputy mayor,
-nor does the village have the appetite to take on the mayor for no reason,
-nor have all the Caravans suddenly acquired illegal drilling rights.
On the contrary,
-for 13 months now we have expressed our concerns in writing through a notification of the residents' assembly, but without any response (KARAVAS, 5/8/20024)
-that so many people stand under the sun for 9 hours trying to find a crack of understanding before a possible disaster occurs does not show that they are against the mayor but that they care.
-The threats of the gentleman to control the drilling and wells of the village fell on deaf ears.
