Ο Kit Harington believes he made the right choice to take a step back from acting and get into detox program after the end of «Game of Thrones».
«I went through some mental health struggles after “Thrones” —and at the end of it, to be honest—and I think it was directly related to the nature of the series and what I’ve been doing for years,» the actor said on SiriusXM’s «The Jess Cagle Show.».
Harington, who played Jon Snow in the hit HBO series for eight years, explained that he realized he needed to take a break from acting and focus on his own well-being.
«I think I took a break after “Thrones” where I said, “I don’t want to work for a year. I really want to focus on myself.” I’m really glad I did that,» he said.
Harington enrolled in a program for stress management and alcohol rehabilitation in May 2019.
Now, Harrington says he is ready to return to acting, although his plans have been put on hold due to Covid-19.
In any case, he said that although his professional plans were «put on hold» due to the pandemic, something positive came out of this global ordeal for him and his wife, Rose Leslie: «What it gave us was the chance to spend time together. And because of that, we had a baby.».
«That’s the main thing I’ve taken away from the pandemic—becoming a father. I’ve had a very profound and amazing experience over the past year and a half,» the actor noted.
