«Today marked an important step toward the comprehensive revitalization of the historic town of Chora, the capital of our island. During my meeting with the distinguished architect Ms. Simoni Karouba, we discussed how to update the original 2009 study (which her firm had prepared), which will include additional intervention points, the undergrounding of utility networks, water and stormwater networks, as well as sewer systems in areas that have not yet been connected. Our goal is to finalize a comprehensive and integrated urban renewal study that will be submitted to one of the current or upcoming funding programs (e.g., NSRF, Recovery Fund, etc.). This is a major and landmark project, and we are putting it on the right track!»
