«Canoe Kayak» in Agios Ilias: Another scathing critique from «Free Kythira» regarding a months-long problem with the water supply network

Following the recent satirical comic strip about the court and the shoe-shiner, the «Free Kythira» municipal faction is back with a vengeance, once again wielding the «weapon» of scathing satire. Through the «Citizen’s Line» platform, the opposition in Kythira brings to light a serious complaint regarding the water supply network in Agios Ilias, openly «trolling» the municipal authorities for their inaction. Tourism: Canoeing and Kayaking

For at least two months, the damage to the water supply network in Agios Ilias has remained unrepaired. A fellow resident contacted our political group to express his deep concern about the situation, asking a reasonable question: “Don’t they care at all about the waste of water?”

The constant leak results in the loss of precious water every day, while the uninterrupted flow has made the street slippery, posing a danger to pedestrians and vehicles. Immediate repair of the damage is not only a matter of proper water resource management but also a matter of public safety.

Our position:
We would like to inform our fellow citizens that those who believe the water supply problem in Agios Ilias has remained unresolved for months due to indifference are mistaken.

Seeing that, for the twelfth consecutive year, the tourist season was not extending, the mayor appears to have taken a pioneering step toward development. He let the water flow continuously, creating the right conditions for the development of alternative forms of tourism, such as canoeing and kayaking, along the Agios Ilias route.

Therefore, the accusations that he is not interested in the island’s development are unfounded. On the contrary, everything is running perfectly, the infrastructure is in exemplary condition, and Kythira is experiencing unprecedented progress. After all, when a problem remains unresolved for months, it is clearly not a matter of negligence. It is a matter of strategic planning that the average mind is unable to comprehend.
