“Unbelievable” things are happening these days in Kythira. We came to spend a few winter days in Kythira and ended up “stranded” on the island after the well-known Aqua Jewel incident.
Starting February 13, a RoRo ferry will begin service; however, it is for trucks and unescorted passenger cars only. The proposed solution, therefore, is to send the car unaccompanied to Neapolis, where, however, there will be no one to pick it up (!). We would have to fly to Athens, and then the driver would have to take the intercity bus to return to Athens with the car. As for the inconvenience and the extra expenses—as in so many other cases—not a word about it, and from whom, I wonder? Is this a laughing matter or a crying one? Probably just sadness…
